Red Feathers- Labor Day Weekend!

Learning to slide...she was very excited about this and liked it A LOT!
Mom still needs to help her on the big girl slides.
Watching Dad and Grandpa play horseshoes. Every time a horseshoe hit the ground she'd say, "UH-OH!"
Playing at Lake Dowdy. Unfortunately it was a little chilly, but she still got her feet wet.
And tried to eat rocks.
Family picture...we all walk on water, it's hereditary.
The sun finally came out right as Elie had had enough.

BOOKCLUB!

Book #2 in the series, and I am onto #3, they are awesome!

She's Got Legs

We had Elie's one year check up last week and she is in the 85th%ile for height at 30.5". Nancy and I were both only 29", she's going to be giant. And her feet look huge in those shoes, but the actually fit. Her weight was good at 50th%ile, she weighs 22.5 lbs.

LuLu, Pumas and Dora

Elie was sitting on her LuLu the Lamb chair watching Dora
She's starting to look like a little girl now, no longer mon petit poupon (my chubby-cheeked little baby).
Sweet Shoes! She's ready to drive her race car Grandpa Jim!

Workout Outift

I love this outfit, she looks like she is going running. She is also playing with one of her three favorite toys...keys, remote controls and cell phones (she knows how they ALL work too).

BOOKCLUB!

So I decided to see what all this mumbo-jumbo was about Stepahine Meyer, and I bought into it. I read the first book in this series in two days. It's about a blood-sucking vampire falling in love with a human, it is so Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I love it, I am already onto the second book.

Vail Kickball Tourney '08

Best weekend of the year, every year! We unfortuntely came in 2nd this year, and I am broken, but it was a blast as always. This years team attire...70's.
The 2nd place team (sans the afros).
The Yates.
The bros, the fros and Alicia, the team fortune teller.
A-ron and T.G. Supermen and super packages.

Ready for fall

It's done nothing but rain here for 3 days. If it were winter we'd have 5 feet of snow.
Best news was we got to break out some new clothes. I thought Elie looked like she was ready for her first day at school...
Where she would eat all the other babies' faces.

Someone's gonna be a new Mommy!

Auntie Nan, is now going to be Mama Nan, and Mama Maggs is going to be Aunt Maggs...WHHHOOOOOAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Wearing her birthday presents

Once Elie finally recovered from the party, she was able to get out and play. She's sportin' her "1-derful" t-shirt and her sweet 1980's pink high-top Chuck Taylors. She's worn a lot of her new clothes this week, but I only got these pics, they are all VERY cute!
I recall a family Christmas photo (circa 1987'ish) where I was wearing a pair of pink high-top Chuck Taylor's. Like Mother like Daughter.

Elie's 1st Birthday Party!!!

Elie got dressed up in her "Miss August" outfit for the party!
Olivia came to party with Elie, they played in their party hats. Amazingly they both kept the hats on their heads.
And the fun begins! I knew Elie wouldn't eat the cake, she is still very picky. She even didn't like the chocolate, obviously it is not genetic, since I can eat my body weight in chocolate.
Here she is gagging on it.
None of it actually got in her mouth just all over her.
So we dunked her in the kiddos swimming pool to wash her off.
This is the cake I decorated for the party, I must say, it was very cute (and very good)!
Opening prezzies...
And playing with them!
Elie is a party girl, there was no crying or anything she had a blast. Thanks to everyone for coming, and all the presents!

Elie and I went visit Beth and Baby Sam today! I can't believe that Elie was once that small, and Sam is about the same size she was. Elie was very intrigued by the little one.
I look like the nervous one in this pic. Beth, the new mom looks very relaxed.

Elie got dressed up for my party. My mom found her this outfit that says "Miss August". Her first birthday is in one week!
BTW...one year later, still the cutest baby EVER!
Reading "The Piggy Went to Prada" with Aunt Nan
So cute, and so bad at the same time.

My 31st Birthday!

My Mom and my sister threw me a birthday party. My close firends came over and I drank entirely too much wine and ate way too much cake, it was great!

Bye Bye Buddy!

We had to get rid of our little buddy Duke, he was not behaving around Elie, like biting her in the face. So a nice couple from Loveland took him in. I'll miss him, but it is a lot calmer and a lot quieter around here. BYE BUDDY!

Officially Walking

New game...ripping her shirt off. She gets mad when she has on a onesie and can't get it off.

BOOKCLUB!

I took a break from Eat, Pray, Love and read The Book Thief. It is my new favoite book, I loved it! Now back to eating, praying and loving.

Monday, July 7, 2008

We went up to Red Feathers for the rest of the 4th of July weekend. We hung out with Scott and Whit and Elie got to experience her first Red Feathers Pancake Breakfast where they mix the pancakes together with a Makita drill...best pancakes ever too!

Happy 4th of July!

Elie wasn't able to stay up for fireworks this year, in fact she slept right through all the noise. But she celebrated by wearing a cute outfit and playing in the pool in the backyard with Mom and Dad.

11 months old today!

Only one more month til Elie turns one, I can hardly believe it. I am going to mark down yesterday, July 1st as her first official day to walk. She has taken a few steps before, but yesterday she was taking 4-8 steps in a row and did it several times. I guess she thought since she was turning 11 months she should walk now...look out world! (I'll try to get it on video here soon).

This is no joke...

Elie was SOOO tired while eating the other night, she wouldn't stop rubbing her face, and of course her hands were covered in squash. Very reminiscent of a blog awhile back only her medium was carrots last time. I think this is her best work yet.
We had to have a bath after that mess, she even had squash in her ears. Who's eyes are bigger, Elie's or the frogs?
