Hanging with Papa

Making imaginary cookies with Papa while Mommy & Daddy made real ones.
Chillin' watching the big screen with Papa.

Santa...I know him!

After Elie saw Santa in Colorado, we tracked him down in LA (that Santa is one busy dude) and he was at the Bass Pro Shops. When it was our turn I put Elie down and she literally RAN to him and climbed up in his lap. It was so stinking cute, it made her Grammy cry.
Elie and Grammy with "Froth-ieee" before seeing Santa. Elie loves Frosty, she has a book and you have to sing it to her at least 10 times a day.

I am Goin' Back to Cali

"What iz up my hommies? Moving walkways for babies are like treadmills for dogs and HIGHLY recommended before boarding the plane.

Before we left for Cali, we celebrated Xmas in Colorado. I got a new camera, so let bloggin begin! We hung out with the Schmidtleins and Elie and Katherine had a blast together. Above they are watching The Little Mermaid.
Here's Katherine in her daily uniform of Broncos jerseys and princess dresses. She had fun showing Elie all her toys and pulled her around everywhere by her hand, it was very cute.

One of Elie's Xmas presents...a Hello Kitty over sized coloring book. She LOVES to color. Here her Mimi is showing her how to color red!

Santa!

Hey Elie liked Santa! I think warming her up to him by showing him who he is at home. We were at the club's nursury Christmas party and we colored and made crafts and hung out with Santa. It was fun. I'll blog the rest of the pictures later!

While the cats were away...

Elie stayed with Grandma (a.k.a. Mimi) this weekend while we were gone and she got to do all kinds of fun things. Like play with Mimi's iPhone while sitting underneath the bathroom sink.
And Mom had this tent for dogs, but thought Elie would like it too, you be the judge...

Hut Trip!

I have no clue who Janet is, but we snowshoed up to this cabin at tree line this weekend. It was 6 miles in and out and up and down. It involved some work but worth every minute, the Colorado backcounrty is unbelievable! It started snowing when we got on the trial and didn't stop ALL weekend.
This picture was taken (by someone else) on a day hike out of the cabin from the top of the peak overlooking the hut.
View from the balcony and the soon-to-be sledding hill.

Another view, this is the way we came up.

Building the sledding hill, and a great one it was! It was built luge style and had two small jumps and one huge one at the end (not pictured). I am the one in the light gray jacket working on one of the jumps. Jimmy is on the right bending over with the sled.
Jimmy and I one the hike down out in the winter wonderland.

Part of the group hiking out. One of the best parts of the weekend was the people we were with. Some old friends and some new and nothing but cards, drinking and f-u-n (and a little snow)!

This is what the trail looked like.

Bye Bye wilderness...Hello heat!

Random pics...

We put Elie in her little robe after her baths. If you put the hood up she looks like a sand trooper from Star Wars.
Reading, reading, reading, one of her favorite pastimes. We read Frosty the Snowman at least 10 times a day, and the best part is the thumpty, thump, thump part at the end were you have to stomp your feet.

T-r-o-u-b-l-e, with a capital "T". This reminds of the old Jane's Addiction song, Got Caught Stealing.

Jimmy was out of town for a few days and Elie carried around his Eddie Murray shirt the whole time, at one point I just decided she should wear it, it's till a little big.

Elie and Friends!

Elie...
Baby McKinley (a.k.a Mini Scott)...

Katherine (her oldest and wisest friend)...

Brynleigh (who has the prettiest baby hair who've ever seen)...
And sweet little Aeva!

Proof that we live with an actual monkey

Hi Santa!

We put our Christmas decorations out and showed Elie who Santa is. She now likes to say hi to him on a regular basis.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We tried to give our picky little eater everything on the dinner table and all the little turkey would eat was mashed potatoes, and I think she ate 2 pounds of them. When she was full she found that they were also fun for finger painting!

Elie playing in leaves! There are a lot more where these came from.

Halloween Week Begins....ooooohhhh!

Our play group had a Halloween party, which was a lot of fun! We tried a group shot early so we might avoid baby break downs, it didn't work. Two of them lost it right away.
Here's a couple of the bugs that were at the party. Elie and I didn't get the memo that she was supposed to be an insect.
She was a chicken of course!

Whitney and McKinley came for a little visit this afternoon , and Elie thought she was little again and should ride in the little car seat, I don't think she fits anymore....

Fort

All of Jimmy's dreams came true on Saturday morning when he got to make a fort for Elie. I am pretty sure this is the reason he wanted kids, so he could have a reason to act like one again. Elie loved it, you can see the fort behind her, it took up the entire living room.

Pumpkin Patch!

Elie's first trip to a pumpkin patch! We got a baby sized pumpkin, a Momma sized pumpkin and a BIG Dadda sized pumpkin.
